July 5th-7th :The World Roller Games in Barcelona
For the first time in history, the downhill skateboarding has been invited to participate to the World Roller Games. This world championship gathers 11 disciplines and 4120 athletes from 81 countries. This event takes place every 2 years, in Barcelona for the year 2019.

Each federation had to select the best riders of their country. For France, the selection was based on our previous national/international rank from 2018 and 2017. The final team selected was : Gaetan Ricord, Yanis Markarian, Lucas Poulain and myself.

The track was very short and didn't look very technical since it had no braking. Fortunately, the speed was good enough (75-80km/h) which made the curves very interesting ! I was convinced that my performance on the track would not be good because of my light weight. But I actually made a good job !

During the second day, I qualified third at the time trial, with 0.23 secondes behind the second best time and got a bronze medal :)

For the men : 1st Oscar Archibaldo (Spain), 2nd Yanis Markarian (France), and 3rd Dane Hanna (Canada).
1st Emily Pross (USA), 2nd Vittoria Mallman (Brazil)

During the third and last day, we started in round 16, then quater-finale, semi-final and final. I finished 1st at my two first heat, then 2nd in the semi-final behind Vittoria from Brazil.
The final heat was against Emily Pross (USA - world women champion since 4 years), Vittoria Mallman (Brazil), Lisa Peters (Netherlands). I pushed 4th and managed to pass Lisa in the second corner :) which gives me the 3rd place again ! :)
You can watch my final heat, from this link, from 0:57:54 to 0:58:58 :

All the winners :
Men : Dane Hanna 1st, Harry Clarke 2nd, and 3rd Oscar Archibaldo
Women : Emily Pross 1st, Vittoria Mallman 2nd and myself 3rd.
